SA Talke has been awarded a three-year contract by Saudi Kayan to handle in-plant logistics for its new liquid chemical production plant at Al Jubail, Saudi Arabia. The deal marks the first major liquids handling project for the Talke Group in the Middle East, where it has so far mainly been active in polymers.
SA Talke, a joint venture between Talke, Sisco Group and Al Jabr Group, will undertake the filling of drums, tank containers and road tankers, transport to off-site storage and the storage of Saudi Kayan's ethoxylate output from the 140,000 tpa plant, due to start operations in mid-2012. SA Talke has rented new storage capacity to help handle the additional volumes.
