ESIG seeks solvents stewardship submissions
The European Solvents Industry Group (ESIG) is inviting companies that use or handle solvents to take part in its 2011 Product Stewardship Award.
First launched in 1999, the Award seeks to promote and recognise excellence, innovation and continuous improvement in the use of solvents as well as health, safety and environment protection beyond regulatory requirements. “With health and safety standards in the workplace increasing and environmental emissions decreasing, we are convinced that many companies located in Europe have put in place innovative best practice approaches to handle solvents in a responsible and sustainable manner. We encourage them to submit their application for the 8th ESIG Product Stewardship Award,” says ESIG director general Dorothee Arns.
The deadline for submissions is May 31. Application forms can be downloaded at the ESIG website along with sample applications from previous winners. The winner will be chosen by an independent jury composed of senior representatives of the EU Commission, the EU Parliament, the trade press and health and safety organisations, with the Award presentation to be made at the Cefic Responsible Care Forum and ICCA Congress in Brussels this coming autumn.
