SIGTTO has formed the Natural Gas Marine Fuel Safety Advisory Group as a cross-industry platform to advise on the design, operation and maintenance of LNG marine fuel systems.

Ship-to-ship guide on its way

Participants in the Chemical Distribution Institute (CDI) vessel auditing scheme have concluded that existing ship-to-ship (STS) cargo transfer guides produced for the oil and LNG tanker sectors are in many ways inappropriate for chemical transfers. The existing guides produced by the International Chamber of Shipping (ICS), Oil Companies International Maritime Forum (OCIMF) and the Society of International Gas Tanker and Terminal Operators (SIGTTO) are well established but do not reflect the reality of chemical tanker operations, says the International Parcel Tankers Association (IPTA).
