MISC expands chemship fleet

MISC Bhd last month took delivery of its tenth chemical tanker and the 21st in its fleet of owned and chartered in chemships. The 38,000 dwt Bunga Allium was delivered from STX in Korea on January 5 and carried its maiden cargo from Korea to Pasir Gudang, Malaysia. MISC’s current chemical tanker newbuilding programme involves the delivery of 15 such ships over the coming two years. “These additional vessels will provide MISC with the critical mass required to better serve its customers globally and at the same time allow MISC to expand its global presence,” the company says. The new ships are designed to carry a range of chemical, vegoil and clean petroleum cargoes.
