Jo sails into products

Jo Tankers has entered the LR1 product tanker market with the delivery of the first of its 74,500 dwt, IMO III newbuildings.

Stolt trims fleets

Stolt-Nielsen Ltd, through its subsidiary Stolt Nielsen Gas Ltd, has agreed to merge its LPG tanker operations with those of Sungas Holdings, a privately owned Saudi company.

Touching bottom

MARKET Despite an apparent recovery in trade, ship operators in Europe do not yet seem to be reaping any benefits. The length of the current downturn is now causing financial problems for some of them.

Jo moves into products

Jo Tankers has placed an order for two 74,500 dwt LR1 product tankers from STX in South Korea. Delivery is scheduled for late 2012 and early 2013.

End of the affair

The three largest European chemical tanker operators, Odfjell, Stolt-Nielsen and Jo Tankers, were in high spirits this month after the case against them brought by the European Commission was dropped.
