Ampal-American Israel Corp has confirmed that it is in negotiations with a potential investor over the sale of a minority stake in its wholly owned subsidiary Gadot Chemical Tankers & Terminals Ltd.

Gadot adds Agro

Israel’s Gadot Chemical Tankers and Terminals has acquired Merhav Agro, a compatriot distributor of agricultural protection products, for approximately $28.4m.

Gadot adds three chemships

The marine division of Gadot Chemical Tankers and Terminals has three 17,500 dwt IMO II newbuildings currently nearing completion. Chemical Helit was launched this past December at the Linhai Hangchang Shipyard in China and is due for delivery by the middle of the year. Linhai is building a further two vessels, Chemical Noy and Chemical Fira, for delivery towards the end of the year. These will join the Chemship BV fleet. Netherlands-based Chemship, a subsidiary of the Gadot Group, currently operates seven chemical tankers and is due to add another four to its fleet by the end of 2012.
